Feb,14 - St Tryphon Days, Kotor

St Tryphon day's celebration is a tradition from the 9th century in honor of the patron of Kotor. Every year at the end of January and beginning of February festivities dedicated to this saint are held: concerts of church choirs, dance performances of folklore ensembles and plays and cultural events.

On Feb, 14 the whole day is filled with events. Long mass in the Cathedral of St Tryphon's starts in the morning and pilgrims and believers are gathering. After the mass Boka navy members in uniforms are performing traditional dances in front of the Cathedral and a city marching band is playing. Celebration continues on the streets of Old Town with a procession carrying the ark with relics of St Tryphon through the town and back to the Cathedral.
